Do you have the offtopic section on your forum and why do you feel its necessary to have one?

Yes it is always first things to have it as it will provide some cool zone for members and they can talk whatever they wants to and it makes bonding between the members means you will have good community too.

I am quite against off topic section on a forum. I believe the forum should stay on its own topic. You cannot invite all sorts of users on your site. try to invite users who can post on your nice.

After creating forums, and subforums around the major forum sections. We ought to understand the need to create off section forum, where members can talk about anytime that cross their minds.

In my opinion, the off topic section is very necessary in a forum which will be useful for accommodating all threads that are not available in the main topic thread, so off topic will be useful as a miscellaneous tread.

yes i totally agree with you. there should be a off-topic thread also so people can talk with their opinion and solution for any kind of problem if they can solve it with conversation each other. will be good.

It's sort of cool to own, it makes you explore how people are really are outside of the regular 'online money making' subjects, some people love to share their personal preferences etc...

Its just good to have an offtopic section, where members will be privileged to share about what's happening around, and talk about gists, laugh over hilarious things and feel entertained.

I don't have a forum of my own but on my cousin's forum that I do manage from time to time there is an off-topic section and I feel that an off-topic section is necessary because there is no way that we won't talk about other aspects of the society if a website or forum is just all about one section.

I think a forum should focus strictly on the niche, having an off topic will only distract you from the forum topic. Having too many posts on off topic hurt the site.

That's just it, that's why Bizdustry isn't rewarding for the off topic section. It derails the forums contents quality when off topics are created more than the main niches.

I think the forum like bizdustry that pays for posting should remove the off topic section from the forum, instead create more categories on the related niches.

You can remind that to Alexander to remove the general discussion, entertainment, and the rest which isn't benefiting to the forum.

Not everybody is good at the main topic of the forum, offtopics give more rooms to others who are professionals in other areas to contribute and can be useful for members at the long run.

I have recently created a forum. The forum is a crypto currency niche forum. I do not have off topic section for my forum because I do not want people to create a lot of topics on off topic.

Having off topic section on a forum is very important as it will give more users the freedom not to be disrupting or mixing all the thread they are about to create together.

Yes I have the off topic section on my website. With this method mode of interaction, it will definitely allow the members not to abuse using other threads for what is not meant to be used for.

The off topic section is a good breather where you can post anything under the sun. But I hate to see the thread "count 1 to 1,000" which I see in several forums in their off topic section. Don't they feel stupid in posting a comment on that thread?

I will like it. An off-topic forum will be a great time to have a good chat with everyone where you can express your opinions and views. But it must not negate the rules guiding the forum.

Yeah you will need it because most people would have lots of ideas in mind that may not be related to any of the main sections you have.
