Not being paid by boss

Let's say you start working somewhere without being officially registered and you are okay with this because you need money and it seems like okay solution until you find something better. Now, end of the month comes and boss says he doesn't want to pay, he is unhappy with your work or comes up with reasons to cut off your salary. How would you react to this? This is so so common in my country.

That's terrible. It's sad that people fall for such traps. I am fortunate to have not fallen for such things because my job falls in a structured labour category and we have laws and rules to protect us. Though this is not so common here, but we do keep hearing about such cases in unstructured labour sectors like household help etc.
I wish that such unstructured sectors are taken into consideration by the government and laws should be made to protect labourers.
It would be devastating to not get compensated for the time and effort after a long month, especially when you need the money so badly.
