This device would be like a tablet that hangs on the wall. (Similar to a home security pad next to a door). Anyways, it is similar to a social media platform where you can select what interests you have. However. these interest guide what news is posted on this tablet every day. Making News more readily available to the general population, while pulling up news that is relevant to the individual. Of course, some news would not go away with interest selecting. Such as, natural disaster warnings, elections, policy and legal updates, etc. But, stuff like what our President eats or animals doing funny things could be optional. Let me know if you like News Anchor. Any suggestions, criticisms, etc. are gladly accepted.

What's the difference between this and a smartphone's news app?
The house extension would (In my vision) be included in the house. Like a microwave. If not then it would be a more reliable and quick source of information. You have to purposely check the phone to see the news or just see the headlines. The News Anchor would be in your kitchen or living room right there telling you the information. Thus, leading to more informed civilians/voters.

I don't know what Google Home is, but I am assuming it lets you characterize what news is more important to the individual. This one is actually an ipad hooked to the wall that readily gives news when it comes out. Of course, other implementations would be made. The main focus, however, would be the important broadcasts and whichever the user feels like learning about.

Yea, basically I just ask my Google Home, "Whats the news?" and it tells me my curated news.
Yeah, basically it would be more in your face. And I'd like it to be a product that is incorporated into the home atmosphere. Maybe, blend into the wall more. This could extremely help the less informed voter epidemic.
