Some artists like Bob Dylan, Morrisey, Tom Petty and countless rappers have pushed lyrics to the edge. For instance, let's look at Morrisey's song (with the Smiths) "William it was Really Nothing".

The rain falls hard on a hum-drum town. This town has dragged you down.

Here's one from "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" (with the Smiths):

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour, but heaven knows I'm miserable now. I was looking for a job, but then I found a job, and heaven knows I'm misearble now. In my life, why do I give valuable time, to people who I'd rather, spit in the eye?

Not sure if the last lyrics were completely correct.

For me the the song with great lyrics award goes to Another Brick In The Wall. Lyrics is very important for me, I like songs that have meaningful and touching lyrics.

For me the lyrics are the most important thing about the song, although the instruments and good rhythms are the basis of the song, but a good letter that supports it is as if it were in the middle of the work.
