Moving MyBB forum into PhpBB

I have a forum that used MyBB. Even though I like MyBB as it is easy to use I am thinking about switching to another software, perhaps PhpBB. How do I do that? Are there specific add ons that will help me convert my MyBB forum into PhpBB forum? Are these add ons free or paid?

PhpBB converters work well. I've used them in the past. Only problem I had was it didn't convert passwords so users had to request a new password after conversion. That might have changed now.

There's a convertor script you can use to move your MyBB forum to phpBB. I would give it a go on a non live version of your forum to ensure everything goes smoothly first. This is what I do whenever I moved any of my forums in the past. Some things might not get converted, so I would read up and see what gets converted and what gets left behind and let your members know afterwards if they need to reupload their avatars, etc.
