Medication - mental health

Do you take medication for mental health? I used to but I don't anymore as I was just adding extra chemicals and stuff to my body with those meds and I really hate meds... I am already on one med for my diabetes and that is enough. My mental health is now sorted through self care and being with my partner greatly helps me.

No, I do not currently. I personally don't like taking meds unless I have to take them.

I take a few meds for mental health issues. I'm schizoaffective, so I need medication both for the schizophrenic tendencies and for the imbalance of chemicals that affect my mood. Unfortunately, my anti-psychotic includes some side effects that mimic Parkinson's Disease, so I also have to take medication for parkinson's just so my lip doesn't twitch and quiver constantly without any control. xD

Oh, and one of my mood meds doubles as a pain management medication. And I'm on meds for anxiety...

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in early 2019 and I was put on fluoxetine and amitriptyline to help with the symptoms I have with fibromyalgia. I also ended up in emergency care last year in August due to a severe headache that would not go away. Due to that I had to be checked and was diagnosed with acute migraines so I also have medication for the onset of migraines called Sumatriptan.

Ugh, I feel you on so many levels here. I'm also diagnosed with fibromyalgia and, in my case, chronic migraines (I get migraines more than half the days of a given month). I'm also on medication for endometriosis, which indirectly affects my mental health... So I may need to get my mental health meds tweaked slightly. I can't take triptans though, so I'm actually on heart medication that doubles as a migraine repellant. It works okay... sometimes. xD

I'm only on three different ones for mental health reasons, but 12 total meds...fun times. Fluoxetine for anti-depressant (because Bupropion didn't work) and then two I don't recall the names of, lol...
