When I look at hosting packages, I see two options, one is managed hosting and another is unmanaged hosting? Please explain to me what is managed hosting and what is unmanaged hosting? Which hosting is better for a newbie?

Managed hosting is when your web hosting company manages your hosting account from the back end. Un managed hosting means you are responsible for all hosting related activities. If you do not want to bother with managing you hosting account, choose managed hosting.

I have checked the price of manage hosting and un managed hosting and the managed hosting cost little more. I think extra charge is for the extra work that your host does for you.

When it comes to the difference between managed hosting and on unmanaged hosting, I think one of the major difference is that the managers thing has to do with the company hosting your website and backlinks while the unmanaged hosting will give the hosting right of your website to you and you doing that will take a huge toll on you because it's not easy.

When I was launching my first website, I did not know about managed and un managed hosting. I searched for the cheapest web hosting and I landed into unmanaged hosting

I believe in learning by doing, if you use unmanaged hosting you will learn things about website hosting. You do not have to worry about hosting when you use unmanaged but you will not learn any thing

As one of the newbies as well I don't know the difference between managed hosting and unmanaged hosting as well, but I open this thread to learn one or two things tho.

If you check the thread just above your comment you will understand what a managed hosting is and what un managed hosting is. You need to read in order to learn

I have also noticed that a lot of people on this forum are in such a hurry that they are making comments without reading what it has already been posted.

That's true. This is the basic characteristics of the paid to post forums. When the forum is paying for each comment user creates, a lot of users are interested only in earning, they do not care about adding value to the discussion. I think people should stop posting on the thread that they do not have any knowledge.

Managed hosting is a kind of hosting that you pay for and have access over to the cpanel. For unmanaged hosting, it's always free but you can loss your data that is why it's not adviceable to use.

In managed hosting a lot of some of the management especially from the back and is being done by the Host company while in the unmanaged he will have to do everything alone.

For managed hosting you pay for the web hosting services and after that you just install content management system while the company keeps managing the hosting for you while unmanageable hosting can be affected by any malware.

Managed means that if something goes wrong, needs updating, etc. then you will not have to worry about it. They have a team that works on these things for you.

Well from what i've heard, in managed hosting your web hosting company managers your account while in unmanaged hosting, you are responsible for managing your own account.

The main difference between managed and unmanaged hosting is the level of control and support that is provided. Managed hosting provides a higher level of support and control, with the hosting provider taking care of all the technical aspects such as the installation and maintenance. Conversely, unmanaged hosting provides less control and support, leaving the customer to handle the technical aspects themselves. In addition, managed hosting is normally more costly than unmanaged hosting.

Even though managed hosting is often more expensive, it is the best option for individuals who require greater customization and supervision over their server environment. Additionally managed hosting frequently comes with services like automatic backups, security tracking and upgrade maintenance. Conversely, the latter is more affordable and appropriate for users that feel confident in controlling their virtual network, although unmanaged hosting offers additional freedom setting it up and keeping it up necessitates more time and work.

Managed hosting and unmanaged hosting refer to the level of support and management provided by a web hosting provider for a website or application.
Managed hosting
The provider manages the technical aspects of the hosting environment such as server maintenance, security, software updates, and technical support. This allows the customer to focus on managing their website or application and leaves the technical tasks to the provider.
Unmanaged hosting
The customer is responsible for managing the technical aspects of the hosting environment. The provider typically only provides the physical server and network connectivity. This option is often more affordable but requires technical expertise and resources for server maintenance and management.
In summary, managed hosting is a good choice for those who want to offload technical responsibilities, while unmanaged hosting is a good option for those who have the technical skills to manage their own server environment.

A lot of people believe that managed hosting is for people without skills. Well, I believe use managed hosting only when you do not have time for website management. Otherwise, use unmanaged hosting and have full control over your site
