As a Gamer you can earn by creating game content for various video sharing sites. You can earn through ads, sponsorships, affiliate marketing, selling merchandise, and subscriptions. But which platform do you think is best to earn through game streaming. Would you suggest a site like Twitch or newer one like Kick, or perhaps more traditional one like Youtube?

You can make cash from subs, bits, and ads. But Kick is getting popular 'cause it gives streamers a bigger cut, so maybe check that out too. YouTube's also dope if you're into making different stuff like reviews or long vids, plus it’s easier to get discovered.

Besides streaming, there are other ways to make cash from gaming. I found some tips like doing affiliate marketing, selling guides, or joining tournaments. Mixing those with streaming could help you earn more. You can find more info here on How To Make Money Gaming.

1. Twitch

  • Pros:
    • Largest audience for gaming content.
    • Established monetization options (subscriptions, bits, sponsorships).
    • Strong community features (chat, emotes).
  • Cons:
    • High competition.
    • Monetization can be difficult to achieve without a strong following.

2. YouTube Gaming

  • Pros:
    • Integrated with the larger YouTube ecosystem (videos, comments).
    • Multiple ways to monetize (ads, memberships, Super Chats).
    • Potential for video content diversification (VODs, highlights).
  • Cons:
    • More challenging to build a live audience compared to Twitch.
    • Algorithm can be unpredictable for live content visibility.

3. Facebook Gaming

  • Pros:
    • Growing audience and possible connections with a wider social network.
    • Monetization options through ad breaks, fan subscriptions, and brand partnerships.
  • Cons:
    • Less established gaming community compared to Twitch and YouTube.
    • Content discoverability can be hit-or-miss.

4. Mixer (Note: Now Defunct)

  • Pros:
    • Initially appealed to streamers with unique features and low latency.
  • Cons:
    • Platform shut down in 2020, so it's no longer an option.

5. Kick

  • Pros:
    • New platform with a focus on streamer-friendly monetization (higher revenue share).
    • May offer less competition initially.
  • Cons:
    • Smaller audience compared to established platforms.
    • Limited features compared to more established competitors.

6. Trovo

  • Pros:
    • Offers partner program for monetization.
    • Smaller community may provide more visibility for new streamers.
  • Cons:
    • Less recognition and audience compared to Twitch and YouTube.
    • Limited resources and community support.

I have been able to make some money through streaming and whilst it is always nice to be able to make money through that method, it's not as easy as it may seem and isn't always solid.

I have made money from both Twitch and Trovo in the past and I am currently working towards being able to monetize my YouTube channel.
