Keep or delete banned accounts?

I don't see any reason to keep the banned accounts unless they are banned for a specific Period say for a week, month or two months and otherwise they should be removed to wipe the unnecessary clutter from the website.

It is be good to keep banned accounts, it will be a concrete warning to other members not to mess with the forum's rules.

Every website works differently and I have seen websites banning users but they keep their content and it's understandable because the website have paid for those posts.

I don't have forum, but an intelligent forum owner will not delete banned account. This will save the undeletable contents, and also possibly give chance to banned user

I feel the content for which a user is banned should be deleted and there is no use in deleting the whole content of the banned user. I guess it's fine here that a title appears as "banned user" against the name as that gives a message to others that they may be banned if they break the rules.

There might be contents which have discussion based with other members, and if entire account is deleted, losing those contents will result in losing those discussions.

I agree. That's will not help the site as there will no interrelations between the comments which will be confusing. Moreover, it's not the member has always violated the rules. May be he/she has violated it on some responses or comments , those can be deleted

Sometimes it is problem for site owners too, because one person might make some copy paste comment, and others intract in discussion, now deleting copy paste too will make discussion partially waste.

Depends on content quality. If the user has created good content, there is not need to delete account, just ban the user.
