In my case, I have a bunch of loving volunteers on my original and very successful forum that turns 18 this year. It's primary audience are people who volunteer their time as it is, so it's in the nature of these members to have a desire to serve others.

On my newer community, it's just me running the show. It also targets a different type of audience. It's growing, and I will want to eventually start promoting from within. But I've been thinking about some sort of perk or incentive to make it more appealing, perhaps even strengthening our bonds.

How about your Staff?

I am staff on multiple forums and my staff position is purely volunteer based. However, as a staff I also get different kinds of earning opportunities. However, when I hire for my forum, I always pay them
