Is there real democracy in the west?

It seems like candidates are bought out by money, but I can understand why, the reason is because it takes money to win an election, like it takes money to make a business. I mean, if you were super-rich, then you could run for US president legitimately.

I mean that's how Trump did it right lol. He was super rich, and thought to go into politics. Ronald Regan was also an actor and had money too I would assume. Of course I wasn't even alive when he was the president. They say money talks after all right?
