Is there a history behind your name?

Some people have names that were chosen by their parents because they liked the name and it drove them to make that choice.

I hear a lot though about people who had their name chosen based on the history of that name within the family.

Is there history behind the name your parents chose for you?

No idea as I never asked because I hate it so much. The name I now use was chosen in honour of someone in the public eye I admire.

There's no history I know that's behind my name except that it's what my parents choose to name me. I love the name, otherwise I would have changed it by now.

My mom chose my name because she liked it.

I was born a couple of days before the Buddha's birthday, so I was named after one of the important Buddhist book of scriptures. Interestingly, my parents are not Buddhist.

There's no history behind my username. It's just my name which I added a few characters in order to make it my username.
