I think for any website perception (in terms of money behind a person) is VERY important. People want to be on forums where the owner has the resources to make it as speedy, well designed and to keep it up, they want hosting businesses that have dedicated servers x10 etc. What are your thoughts? Should people care about the money behind a site? :)

I think people should care, but it shouldn't be the only thing people care about. If you can't devote that kind of money, you should still be respected, especially if you already have a reputable forum.

I think you're right and with any forum or website, the quality of the owner is more important than the cash behind them! :)
