Is it worthwhile to purchase trailers for habitation?

I'm not aware with this industry because, in my nation, very few people opt for this kind of lodging because there isn't anywhere to park such trailers so that they can sleep soundly. But given that their leasing charges are known to be extremely expensive, I believe it would be a wise investment in nations that have adjusted to this, like the USA.

I want to experience a life in a trailer, maybe I will buy a trailer when I retire. Living in trailer is not a common thing in my country. I believe it would be really nice investment

Mobile homes depreciate in value and cannot withstand a tornado. However, aside from that, they can look quite good (and campers also) and, well, we don't live forever, so who really cares if people trailer shame us or we can't resell it for more money than initially invested.
