Yes, It is actually very risky. Everything in life is risky, and you can't afford not to take risks.
If it works out well fine, If it doesn't work out well fine also.

The simple truth is that there is no guarantee when it comes to being able to make profit from investing in political campaigns. This is because if the party you are supporting and investing your money into end up not winning the election, you are going to lose everything.

In my country, political campaigns are very large and sometimes too annoying, I suppose you can invest money in this in different ways, for example by joining a political party and acting within it through donations or others, I have never allocated money to this, but what I have done is bet on the victory of a politician in a bookmaker, some bookmakers allow you to bet on electoral results haha.
