Is it important to have a schedule for posting in blogs?

I always wondered, do people really care about this?
Lets say I would make at least 3 posts every week but not on any particular day. I don't have any schedule for this.

And there is another blog which has a schedule for their postings. If people are presented with both the blogs, is there anyway, people are going to be more interested in the blog with scheduled posting?

I think there is no sure shot, in some cases the number of visitors to the blog with no schedule can increase as people will come looking for the contents every day.

Certainly, people will expect content regulary. You need to stick to a schedule be it once a day or once a week in my eyes.

Once a day and once a week is fine. But I am talking about the schedules like every Wednesday 2:00PM etc!

No I don't like it that way. I prefer to write whenever I want to. But I like having a fixed number of posts per each week!
