Is flogging necessary to raise children?

I was raised with intense flogging from my parents for every bit of wrong done. Seems it helped me to turn out a good child and citizen. Others don't believe in flogging as a method of raising children.

What do you think? Should a child be flogged?

No, I am against hitting kids. Hitting kids do not discipline kids, it makes conditions worse. I have kids and I never raise my hand
