You can go for it.
Likewise you should know that audience are more cling to .com, even browser auto complete will end with .com at first. More reason why .com is classified as top level domain.

All in all, your SEO and content value matters so much here. When your website has the value, the audience will keep note of the .net and revisit.

I'm a Blog content writer just in case you need one tho.

Yes I agree with that it is all about content and if you are focused person towards your website than you might be better than .com domain. It is just TLD that's it.

It's a top level domain as well.
I am sure it can work as a replacement if .com domain extension is not available. It will always be my second choice if I couldn't get a .com domain extension. It's easy to remember too.

Also based on the target audience, you can go for your own country domain extension as well.

Yea. Country code depends on target.
Op what is your blog niche? As there are extensions that can fit in.

I think you can go with .net just check if it would fit in the name you want to give your site

Yeah I think that's the most suitable alternative is the .net but you can also consider other domains eg if it is an education project, . edu would be a good fit.

dot net domains were originally meant for internet technology and networking related sites. However, these days that protocol is not strictly followed. From an SEO perspective, all domains are the same, there is no difference between using dot com or dot net, or dot xyz for that matter.

You can go for the dot net extension. Dot net is the next best rated extension for a domain name after dot com. You can only choose if your website is based on non governmental or charity program. In fact, a domain name with dot net are still fetching investor good money at the domain name marketplace.

Com and Net are two of the most popular domain name extensions. If your preferred dot com domain name extension is not available, then many domain name generator tools will suggest .net as the alternative.

However, it is not a suitable alternative for your business in most cases.

COM in the .com domain name represents commercial domain names. This includes all business websites, websites that want to make money online, personal websites, blogs, portfolios, and almost anything in between.

On the other hand, the NET in the .net domain name extension represents “network”. It is recommended and suitable for the internet, email, and networking service providers.

The extension of the domain name is actually the name of the domain name provider that hosts the website names in directory in their server. I don't see any difference when it comes to the domain name extension. When I was working with an organization our first domain name was dot come then it was changed to dot org and the last one, from what I remember, was dot net. The reason for the changes of the extension was the changing of the domain name, the boss wanted a new domain name.

Some extensions are valued more for example edu, gov, etc. However, restnof the domains, be it com, net, org or even xyz are treated equally by search engines. Thus, it does not matter whether you choose dot com or dot net. What matters is your content.

The thing is that the three main form of domain extensions which are the most popular are all interchangeable. They are the.com domain extension the .org domain extension and the .net domain extension. All these domain extensions are interchangeable.

I have seen people use net, info or co, if dot com are not available, I have never used net or co domains but I have 4 dot info domains. The choice for replacement is very personal

Domains doesn't determine, if your site will be a jump in the web. Or boost its popularity or bringing better traffic. You select your domain extension based on preference and the niche you choose.

It depends on the kind of site you want to build and the purpose of building your site would determine what to use that could be the best for your site I guess, so you can't just use anything other thing without knowing the best one that would suit it.

No domain can be considered a replacement for another domain. Every domains have their own importance. But then I hear that search engines do not discriminate domain extensions.
