Integrating Social media with your site

Do you believe in integrating social media with your site/forums and if so, why?

For myself, I truly believe in the premise of integration between sites and social networks. You cannot deny that social networks are effectivly a part of life in some senses now and it would be quite foolish in my eyes not to integrate it some extent or even particulars of social networking. Much like XF has done with the like/follow system.

Social media integration is pure gold nowadays...it's a great source of traffic.

I believe in that too. Social media can bring lots of traffic if its done right! There is one problem though, integrating too many social networks into your site can make your site slow in some cases!

Yes it does help the site in many ways, but too much for a site is risky.

I think integrating like Twitter and Google + is acceptable, but adding Facebook integration is a bit much. Facebook has dipped its fingers in to too many things now a days. Sick and tired of seeing it.
