If we have a similar name can we be sued?

Found out that a domain name that i want to use to set up a shop already exists but their name is just separated with a - , would it be a problem if I made a new shop that sells similar products?

You are not allowed to register some branded domains. For example, Amazon.com is a brand, you cannot register a domain another domain using Amazon as the name, in other words you cannot register Amazon.io even if you want to.
