Your marketing campaign will succeed only when you know your demography. Knowing your demography means understanding your customers through market segmentation. Demographic segmentation is one of the most important part of market segmentation. Demography focuses on understanding the target customers.

Demography segmentation starts by finding age range of your target customers and their gender. You will also have to find out the financial condition of your customers (for instance, income level, financial status, etc.) You will have to see whether your customers are lower class, middle class, upper class, or ultra rich. You will have to check the socio-economic status of your customers. You also need to understand education level of your customers as well as the family structure of your customers.
