When it comes to a website the truth of the matter is that there is a lot of uncertainty about security and there are risks as well. For example if you are looking at any online facility there could be a hack and this could erase or undo a lot of the coding that you put into on your website. This is why back-ups are important and therefore it can allow you to start up back from where you were before the hack. How often do you back up the data on your website?

I have mirrored my main database into another backup database in another hosting. Whatever data is stored in the main database is simultaneously stored in the backup database. My backup is instantaneous and has proven effective in the long run. It's a little bit expensive to have two hosting accounts, but my account is very secure compared to traditional backup and keeping in the hard drive. My backup data is secure from viruses, hackers, and other hardware failures.

This is a good way to ensure that there is a constant back up between the two however the concern that i have is that there is always a link between the two which means that hackers can find your back up as well.

I think backing up a website can be of good help, so that the owner of the site doesn't get confused when the site is being hacked, at least there will be another option.

You can't predict when a hard drive or hosting failure might occur, or whether an update to one of your plugins will result in a conflict with another.

The bottom line is that all websites should be backed up at least daily, and active sites on an hourly or instantaneous basis.

Website should be backed up on a daily basis, as one can't exactly tell there will be a lost of information due to certain factor which cannot be completely prevented.

It's very good to back up website data. However, I don't think it's important to back up website data if one uses vps server when creating the website. I really love the vps server. The next website I am creating I will make use vps server. Backing up a website data is good.

Well it if you are with good host and have better packages than back up is daily as it's added on features which is good if you lost your content or website as you can easily restore your database again.

back ups are the core of every security network, because of unforeseen eventualities that may occur which are not planned for, so you should have a routine for backing up your files to prevent losses.

I think it is necessary to back up data every day for future reference. Unfortunate circumstances could happen resulting in complete data loss, and the backup data will be there to salvage the situation.

I think that it is important to backup your data from day one. This is because you may require more time to back up a huge amount of data in the end and this could consume time.

This is an excellent assertion. When you tend to delay and prolong the backup of data till a further date, the backup during that stipulated period will be extremely tedious and cumbersome.

I think that it would be a better idea to backup the data of your website after a few days. For example, you can back up the data after the week ends or after 10 days.

This is the best solution that one can employ. I think backing up data after a week is optimal and will not be that time-consuming in the sense that not a lot of data would have been disseminated during that period.

I don’t normally do back up my website I have a computer I have use for only my website so I don’t normally sign off

What are the best platforms where you could store your website data? Do you think that Google drive would be a great option or not? What are some other options?

The two platforms that would be extremely beneficial to store data of any size would be Dropbox and Google Drive, as you have already stated. These software are both easy to use.

yeah, but dropbox and google drive are very easy to use but i personally prefer google drive, for me it is much more easier to use than dropbox and it also has so many features that google drive does not.

I believe that it would be a great approach to preserve the platform's data every few days. For instance, you can back up the data at the close of the week or every fortnight.
