I use open source platforms, so I do not pay anything for forum software. I have a hosting package that allows me to host multiple websites, so I do not have to pay for forum hosting separately. My only expenses on my forum is domain renewal cost and content development cost. I hire posters on my forums on a regular basis. One of my forums earn about $25 per month through Adsense, and my monthly expenses for that forum is a way less than my income. My average monthly cost for running this forum is around $15, so I am on a profitable side with this forum.
