I was at one time paying about $5 per month, which isn't bad for what I got I suppose, but the support was horrible. It really all depends on what you're getting feature wise, and also support wise. If the Staff sucks at giving support and being there, then you're in for a rough ride if you need help.

I use digital ocean( https://www.digitalocean.com) it is super easy to use. You can scale up or down easily as per your traffic needs without having to switch your server. I used to use webfaction but i switched to digital after i got 2 months of free hosting coupon(http://www.couponsmonk.us/coupon/digitalocean.com/) to try them. I have been hooked to their service since then. I have moved all my sites from webfaction to digital ocean now.
