How many hours do you spend managing your site (including content creation, promotion, and SEO implementation)? I own multiple sites and normally I spend 3-4 hours every day on my sites. I spend money moderating comments on blogs and posts on forums, promoting sites through social media, writing new content as well as implementing SEO.

At the moment, whilst I am adjusting to a routine I will admit, my sites have been somewhat neglected and I feel bad for that but work always comes first and I know once I get into a better routine, being able to work more on my sites will be possible.

I would like to dedicate at least 2 hours if not more to my sites each day if possible so that is the aim at the moment.

The work you have to do on your website each day will influence on how long which you're to spend on the website. If you don't have much to do any day, you will be spending less time on the site. When I have much to do, it's going to take me 3 or 4 hours to finish everything and wait a little to see if something else would come up before I leave.

There was a time when I had to spend a lots of time in order to upgrade my website. I used to spend at least a couple of hours making and designing my website. This was due to the fact that I had to design a perfect theme for my website. I was not able to do that and I had to abandon my website due to various different reasons.

It's sad to hear you had to abandon your website because of not being able to perfect the theme designing and various different reasons which you didn't mention. If you didn't have the right skill and knowledge on how to do it, you should have paid an expert to do the job for you.

I think most of the time I spend on my forum is re-checking it over and over again to see if anyone posts or even logs in for that matter. I'll try and create new resources or post content for it when I can, but I'm pretty clueless about what new things I can bring to the table sometimes. The amount of time I spend checking on my forum varies and depends on how much work I'm doing that day.

I also frequently try to check my communities to see who has checked in, how many new posts have been created of late, and things like that. sadly, I also have to be else where so even when I want to spend a lt of time on my site, I simply cannot.

Well, I can say that everything depends on my schedule for each day in all that is have to do. It's not like I'm working online full time, for me to give unlimited time to my website. If that was the case, I will be online 24/7 and take care of my website always. At the moment, it's within 3-5 hours I can put in at most.

That's what mobile is for, my friend. I have two forums bookmarked on my Safari mobile browser and I have another forum set up as an app that gives me real-time notifications.

Well, I so use my mobile phone to access the sites I own or sites I work on but I am not in a habit of working on my phone, especially with something involved with typing.

I know someone who's exactly like you when it comes to using their smartphone for any kind of tying. Even most of their chatting is on their laptop. They have their WhatsApp and Co on laptop. It's just calls and emails they get on their smartphone.

Yeah, it can be tough to work from a phone due to the accessibility of it all. It's much easier from a PC, especially if you're doing something like coding or writing long lengths of text.

I believe if you are a video creator who likes to live stream or publish short videos, your phone can come very handy as live streaming and creayting short videos are easier on phones compared to PC.

This is very true. I love how I can download my VODS and such from live streaming and be able to use sites and even apps on my phone to edit them and then upload them as shorts to places such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels.

It's amazing to see how far phones have come and it's so convenient not matter what line of work I feel.

I do 5 hours most times, but I tend to split how I spend it on my forums. There are times I spend an hour in the morning, two hours at noon while I finish the rest at night. I do this because I want to see what is going on in the forum and to have a closer look at how activity on the forum is like.

Do you spend 5 hours on your own site or the sites where you are a staff?

I split it on most of the sites, both mine and the ones that I am staff on. It is all about checking what needs to be done and putting in the work to do it. Not everytime that I can spend more time on my personal site though because I need to ensure that things that I am handling on the sites that I am staff on are done properly too.

Well, I have a basic rule that is to spend more time on sites where you are making more money and spend less time on sites where you are making less money or not making any money. You should always calculate the ratio between time spent and money made. THis applies to sites where you work as well as sites you own.

I can dedicate around 3-5 hours to manage and improve my sites, and then it's family time. Striking a balance between my online endeavors and spending quality time with my family is important to maintain a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. This way, I can make the most of my time for both work and personal priorities, ensuring a well-rounded approach to managing my online presence.
