Wow!! That's a very huge number there already. And more will certainly want to get theirs also as time goes on. Because the space for more is actually unlimited as far as the internet is concerned

Of course there are a lot of other domain extensions that abound; dot com is only popular because I think, it's easier to use and though I can't fathom how it grew to be so massive anyways.

This is very interesting information and i did not know that there was so many different domains that are out there because i think that each region would have at least one or two, so in that case i guess that it would make sense.

It seems as if they add new ones every year, if not a few times a year. I am not sure how many we have at this point but the number is going to just keep growing. I know there were talks about making all e-commerce sites be ".shop" but because ".com" is still such a big deal and people pay the most for that extension, I can't see them ever changing. Why would someone like Amazon want .shop?

Honestly, i have no idea. I have never even thought about it. However, i have also done a quick Google search and am finding that there were 1500 by 2021 according to Godaddy.com. I am not sure whether there is a detailed research on this. I would be interested in knowing. Because i think they will be more than that, considering ccTLDs for individuals.dual countries,

despite the extension of so many domain extensions, only 10-15 are mostly used by people and dot com happens to be the number one. INterestingly, xyz also ranks on the top 10 list.

There are so many domain extensions out there with others coming out. We used to have the first generation extensions like .com, .org, .info before new extensions like .io, .xyz, .me came in. We also have crypto domain extensions like .Nft, .eth, .BNB, .sol and so many of them.
