How does the understanding and acceptance of mortality impact the way individuals approach their lives, relationships

It seems to me that today people seem to have forgotten about death because they do reckless and very bad things and sometimes it seems that they have actually forgotten about death and think that they are immortal or on the contrary they remember and therefore do this in order to get everything from life?
