How do you use facial or fingerprint recognition to protect your data?

When I had a smartphone as a child, I didn't want to protect it with additional checks because I didn't have important data or anything that needed to be protected even from loved ones. But now that there is a face recognition function that works quite quickly, I have a check for this parameter almost everywhere it is possible.
