I have seen a lot of community owners use multiple accounts in their communities. For instance, you can see the owner as Admin and also as a user with administrative role, or simply a normal user. Have you done this? How do you create different personas for multiple accounts. Well, when I start, I start by creating multiple accounts, and I try to create personas by defining their interest and expertise. For instance, someone might be too smart on the topic, and another might be too dumb.

I generally create an Admin account and then my regular user account. The admin account is rarely used for anything other than contact point and similar. It would also be used for any major moderation actions.
Otherwise, I don't do the multiple accounts/one person game, other than to create a test new user account here and there to check that any upgrade processes I have created work. But those accounts get deleted after that check is done.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, are you asking if people make different accounts to look like different people? As in, to lie and trick the audience and members?

If so, no way. That's a good way to damage your reputation and end your community. That's a bad practice!

I do have two accounts. My regular account which is me the admin and a test account that I only use to look at the forum as user so that I can make sure everything is working well.

I don't tend to use more than one account on my forums as I feel that is bad practice, I would much rather in most cases do post exchanges or even hire people to post on my forum as I would find it difficult on my own forums to have a different persona and it would eventually show through that I am that person under different accounts.
