How do they contact you?

I do not ban members often, you have to do something really bad, or be a bot to be banned. I don't tend to ban people for breaking the rules, as they are mostly small rules I, myself break so I normally don't care. If you get banned you posted something against the law, extremely offensive, or if you try doing something that is bad enough to get IP banned, and perm banned which luckily, never happens.

If I were to ban people like that, I would include a contact email address in the ban message field should they feel the need to contact me. If your a bot, you'll simply get a message saying 'Screw you robot' or something stupid along those lines.
