Self-evaluation of one's performance may refer to a process where an employee may analyse his or her own performance in the organisation. This is quite important because when an employee performs self-evaluation, it answers may questions such as self-worth and the amount of money an employee gets paid. So, is it important?

With how I carry out workers evaluation in my business of poultry and fish farming, all of my workers already knows whether they performed well or below expectations from what have been going on in the business within the space of one month. Self-evaluation is very important because it help many businesses as well. However, self-evaluation mostly helps employees in the best manner. I used to self-evaluate myself when I used to work in a company and I found that I was not being compensated well.

This is how it should be done. Have a clear path of what you are trying to do and let the employees evaluate themselves at the end of each session. Do you think that it is proper to have a closer look at how they achieve these goals too? I am saying this because there are times that these employees will use shortcuts that are not allowed in the business.

There's no way any of my workers are going to use shortcuts that are not allowed in the business to get things done. I have my business ethics and it's a must for all my workers to abide by it whenever they are working. When you neglect my business ethics when doing your job, it might get you suspended.

Well, this is true. When you self-evaluate your performance, then you may also be able to identify your weaknesses. This way you will get the chance to work on your weaknesses and make sure that you work hard enough to overcome your weaknesses. However, you must work for a specific time period before you start self-evaluating yourself.
 
How I give myself a self evaluation is by setting a task and working on it. At the end of the task completion, I will access how my performance was and know if there's room for an improvement. I see it as a way of training myself.
