You also need to market tirelessly. Starting a small scale business means that you are going to compete against the big guys in the industry and that is not going to be easy. So, making sure that you do proper marketing is a key component to achieving more at the end of the day.

I do not think it is possible to compete with big guys in the market to become successful for the small businesses. I believe small businesses need to craft their own market to become successful. Do you think a small phone company can compete with iPhone and Samsung? Well, that is not possible. However, these small phone companies should try to attract consumers who cannot afford high end devices.

Have realistic goals, network, make sure it is a niche you are passionate about and will not tire of after a short time. I always tell people to make sure whatever they start in terms of a business to make sure it is something they love.
