Having option to use audio reply in forum?

This is something that's been on my mind for a while now and it's seeing if there's a possibility of setting up a section in a forum where audio note reply would be allowed? It's going to take a lot of work to make it happen because there's a possibility of that getting abused by some members.

I have never heard about it before. So, can you explain to me? I have seen many videos being played in the background of a website. I think that they install a plugin for that. It makes your website look more professional and many big businesses install such kind of option. So, are you talking about that?

Do you mean you want to make it possible to add a way for users to do posts with their voice? As in say what they want to post? I think there are features or add-ons that already do this sort of thing. I know Discord has an option to send voice clips, so it's possible there is a forum add-on you could use to dictate forum posts or just add a quick voice clip.

Yeah mate, it's exactly what I'm talking about. I haven't seen it used in any forums yet and I would so much love to have an experience with it. As for Discord, it's a chat messenger and that's very common in most chat messengers I have used.

I have used a couple of forum software but I have never checked if there are mods and extensions that allow users to reply with an audio message. If there was an extension for this purpose, I would still not use it because audio files will be consuming a lot of resources on my servers and ultimately make my site slow. I cannot afford to go to higher level hosting services.

I have never seen it used in any forum I have used for years. One reason which I know should be the same for why no website owner will consider it is because of the file size users will upload. It will make the forum to start lagging in speed. It's not realistic to be used in forums.

Allowing users to upload files will come as a great risk. You should not only moderate the uploaded files but also make sure the users do not upload malware. I also believe that a lot of users would actually be interested in this option as many people are not comfortable talking but they are good with writing.

The lazy one's will be interested in using it since it's going to be more easier for them to talk than to type. Those kind of forum members who make one word post or very short reply will be interested in using the voice feature very well.
