Have you ever had to put your site on hold for any reason? Maybe you had to take a break and had to shut down due to it, or maybe you had a dispute with another site owner about site name/logo etc. Have you ever had to take your site down for any reason? And if so, why?

Yes I have to put my website once in that mode. I've even had to discontinue some sites as well.
The major reason for pausing is that I wanted to rebrand, refocus and restrategise in general. A lot of things needed to be done especially building of social media channels to increase traffic as well.

There is no need to shut down your site when you are on a vacation or if you are in a legal battle over copyrights and trade mark issues. If you have not committed any mistakes, why should your website suffer.

Personally, I have not put any website on that platform before and there is no website I am running at the moment that would warrant me putting it there. But it is really good gaining new knowledge as no knowledge is a waste. I would have loved to know what the above platform is all about. No problems though, as I can always get the information online. Thanks for sharing.

I have not shot my site down because I don't even have a functional website. I have a free blog that was banned for spamming. I used the site to promote affiliate links.

Well, I do not own a website yet. So I never shut a website because of any reason, but as for websites I work in, there was hiatus because of break

Considering the fact that I don't own a website, but I do work in websites and I think putting site on hiatus is very important idea.

What about your traffic? How did you handle them after the break? I know for a fact that most would not wait around till you get back. Where you able to get them back?

I have shut down a couple of sites. I had to shut it down because the site was not earning money, no buyer showed interest in buying the site and I was paying $30 just to renew he domain.

You are going to put one of those sites on hold if it happens that you are managing couple of websites are they gone. I did the same thing with one of my website because the other one require my attention as it is still in the early stage.

These are what we call announcements means I will be absent from this date until this date where you have staff members that will replace each one other between their compulsory absence generally this happens on dummy sites.

Actually I don't own a site yet but a friend of mine actually put up his site on hiatus last summer because of too much spamming and plagiarism.

I think you can manage your site even when you are in a vacation. If your site is a blog, it does not matter how many days you are absent from the site, for a forum, you can run by having a moderator or staff member to look after it.

I planning on creating my web site for affiliate marketing but I don't think I would put my web site on the platform form not until I carry outresearch about it

No i've never put my site down on hiatus or taken my situation down for any reason. I don't even have a site to begin with. I feel instead of taking the site down, get someone to manage it for the mean time.

I'm sure a lot of people would have done that, not because they had to fight or are engaged in a battle over logos or address, most likely because there are some maintenance to be done and so on.

Same here I don't have any website nor forum, but I am very sure when one encounter such problems all he has to do is to set his website there

Just like a short period of breakdown that occur in trendri recently, this made users to put the site on hiatus untill it gained its normal operation. I usually put a site on hiatus whenever I have problem with it.

I have not done that before but I seen when someone had to shut his site down due to an accident he had, back then I use to read stories in his site and it was so interesting.

I had a blog that was on hiatus for most of its 3-year life. I hardly posted on the site as I was too busy making money online. I was able to sneak in some time during Christmas and Holy Week breaks but that was it. I only managed to post 4 articles. It was just fine for me because I had meant the site to be a playground for learning web development and website management while hoping to find time to build content. I also figured that I needed a new domain because my domain name was limited to the local audience.
