Have you ever let your domain expire?

A couple of years ago, I bought a lot of domains in the hope of selling them back for a profit, however, I could not sell any of these domains and continued to renew them every year. renewing multiple domains every year was costing me a lot of money, so I decided to let some of my domains expire. I have let many domains expire. Has this happened to you?

Yea it is true I have some expired domain, some of the my registrars are still keeping it intact awaiting for me to renew it even when grace period was over, while some is no longer available as they are been purchased or registered by another person or org, and I have zero interest in making deep analysis.

I've let some go on purpose and others were based on negligence, and, of course, I regret the latter. Anyway, though, I had too many domains at many stages in my life, so it was inevitable.

Recently, I let one of my domains expire on purpose. I was using the domain for a website and then merged the website with another website, the domain became useless to me, I tried it selling but there were no takers, therefore, I let it expire.
