Have you ever had to step down from a staff position?

I have a few times in the past.

I'm staff on Forum Promotion and right now it's not overwhelming. But if it became overwhelming, I'd have to step down.

I really try to limit my staff on other forums activity.

I get asked a lot. I turn it down most of the time but I do remain very active on their forum. :)

Have been, plenty of times, but it always feels like a burden of responsibility that inevitably detracts from the joy of contributing. There's also the feeling that I'd actually not be particularly good, especially as I've gotten older, I'm sure Shawn can tell you what I was like a few years ago, these days I'm a little less hotheaded but more stubborn...

I think with the view of hindsight that I've never really enjoyed being staff anywhere.

Yes, I have in the past unfortunately had to step down from a staff position. The first time I had to it was because I had issues with the staff who were also working there after I stepped down they for some reason still had issues with me and I ended up getting banned for something I didn't do.

The second time I had to step down was due to not being able to give the time anymore when things got a little too much quite a few years ago now.

Totally reasonable to step down due to not having time. The other bit...? Ouch. So sad to hear they banned you over somethin g you never did.

I haven't stepped down from any positions that I have held in any forum in the past. But I have been removed from my position because I was committed with what's happening in my real life at the moment. It wasn't my plan to yield my position because I was planning on getting my shit in control as soon as possible but unfortunately time wasn't on my side, so I was removed.

I have stepped down before, more so when I was in my late teens and I was doing exams etc... I had to start committing more time to doing that work instead of spending all my evenings online. I also think you know yourself when it's time to give up as you feel that you can't contribute any more than you have done and it's time to give someone else a chance.

Yep, sometimes life gets in the way and I couldn't fulfill my staff duties. I used to be part of the review team on FP years ago, but had to step down because life was getting busy. I was part of the packaging team a while back too but had to step down. Thankfully now I'm not as busy so I'm able to be staff on a few forums, and I'm able to be active on each forum too.

Yes several times. Usually because life got in the way and I had arguably more important commitments elsewhere.

I’d say the only time I really regretted it was when I left my Admin position on the Theme Zone/ZNR or whatever it was called then.
