Have you ever been overcharged for hosting?

Have you ever been overcharged for hosting? I have in the past when I was running my private PSO server. After moving to a different provider i was overcharged by $40 after paying for a month's worth of service. It took them awhile to fix but I ultimately ended up with 3 motnhs of free service for the mishap.

Thankfully I have not, but I know people who have. One friend of mine was double charged for one of his sites. He didn't know for months but eventually got it corrected. Surprisingly the host paid it back, but he had to fight it a bit.

Well, this has not happened to me. I once downgraded my hosting package and I was refunded. I have even been refunded from the regular price because of what they said: "The domain was a premium domain." I never attach my credit card to any online services and set my subscription for auto-renewal.

Luckily I have never been overcharged for hosting and I have not received any unexpected fees either from hosting which is always good.

Sometimes it can happen where there is a problem with the system and it takes out more than it should do when your hosting renews and sometimes you can run into an issue where a company will change the prices but not always alert their customers which is always frustrated.

When this happens I always believe a refund should be given.
