Death is something that's inevitable for all of us. It comes whenever it's our time to go and there's no stopping that from happening. Everyone alive will definitely answer to their maker one day.

Having said that, have you ever seen yourself in any forum which unfortunately ended up losing the owner? How did that affect the survival of the community?

I have never been on any forums where the owner passed away, at least I am not aware of. Since most people running the forums do not reveal their true identity and do not allow the users to connect with them on social media, we would never know if these people are dead. However, on the writing sites where I used to publish articles, a lot of writers died. Even my Facebook friends have died.

I have not found myself in any forum like that before though and I really hope it does not happen, not for myself but for the owner. The forum it self would be in a state of chaos if this happens.

Over the years that I've been making use of forums, it is only one person that I was able to connect online on Facebook. He was the owner of the The Forum Wheel back in the days. I was surprised to be able to find him on Facebook and we connected quite well because he's a very free person.

It's really sad when this happens, personally I have never participated in any forum where it's owner passed away. If no one is available or willing to continue running the forum, it may result in its closure. Alternatively, arrangements can be made to preserve the forum's content and archive it for future reference or potential revival.

Nope well it would be sad day if any forum I post on owner would pass away I don't wish death to anyone

The only forum where I've been where something of the same nature happened. It is when the father of the forum owner died. After the whole burial and everything, the guy tried to come back to manage his platform but I guess he wasn't really ready because at one point, he went offline and that was the end as nobody saw him online again.

Surprisingly I never been a part of a forum when someone who ran it passed away. I've been part of forums after said death sometimes, and heard about it, but never when I was a member.

It is always going to be very challenging for such website whenever the owner dies because the majority aspect of the maintenance of the website and paying for the hosting and the rest will all be in jeopardy because the owner is no longer there to take care of everything.

Up till now, I have never been at such kind of platform. I am a member of many forums and the owners have been running the forums for a long time and the owners are still alive. I wonder what happens when the owner dies? Does anyone else take over the forum?

It's not really a good experience to pass through in any forum especially when you're kind of close to the forum owner. It's going to weigh down for a long time before you would be able to get over losing the person.

Death can be very painful!

I have not had this sad experience at all. I mean I am going to feel pretty sad when I am on a forum where the owner kicked the bucket. There is this fear that I am going to have about what next is going to happen with the forum as in most cases, the owner of a forum have absolute access to a lot of things on the forum.

Fortunately I have not experienced this! It would be quite sad, because then the community would likely eventually die off without a person not being able to continue to update the community. I would hope they'd have a co-admin where they can continue the legacy! I would definitely want to keep up that's persons community in honor of that person.

Well, it actually depends on the level of control the community owner who died have given to his co-admin when it comes to the management of the website. This is because if the co-admin never had a complete access the same way the owner did had access to the community, it is going to be impossible for him to sustained forum from not dying off.

I don't believe I have been part of any forum where the owner passed away. I have been on forums where someone on the forum has passed away but they were not the owner.

It's always sad to hear of someone passing away, especially if they were quite active around forums no matter whether they were staff or a member
