Have you ever had any legal trouble when it came to your business name? As in did anyone else attempt to use your name or coin your name for a different site or service? I know copyrights with names and business names can be annoying, but there is a right that must be regarded here. We all have a right to name our business what we want, as long as it doesn't copy or take away from someone else.

Did you ever win a case against someone using your business name? Did they stop using it? What happened?

I wouldn't say it was legal trouble but I did have someone who stole some of the names of a forum that I had once and they copied by forum almost identical as well along with the same theme and similar logo.

Eventually, they gave up and closed their forum after trying to make people believe I copied them but that was not the case and they ended up just grinning and bearing it and walking away.

Not yet! I am always making sure any business name or title I use was not misused or being used elsewhere where it would cause legality issues. I am thankful to have not had any issues this far.

I never heard about a person being prosecuted just because they made a mistake when it comes to naming a business. There are many small businesses that have copied the name of big brands. However, those small businesses are so small that no one takes them seriously.

In our country, when you are registering a business, the authorities will check whether a similar name is registered or not. You cannot register a business with the name that others have already registered. Therefore, there are rare chances that you will have to fight legal battles for company name.
