Has your restaurant ever ran out of food?

If you run a restaurant, has there ever been a time where you ran out of food? Was it early in the morning, or was it mid day? I can imagine how rough it'd be if it happened mid day, especially if you're dealing with lunch and then later dinner rush.

What happens if a restaurant runs out of food? Do they just close for the day?

I've never owned or managed a restaurant for another person. I've not being in a place to experience this. If I'm hired to manage a restaurant, I will make sure there's food till when we are meant to close. Food will be prepared in batches to make sure everything doesn't run out.

I once owned a restaurant, however, we sometimes ran out of food, especially during the evening when we had a lot of customers. We always gave them other choices whenever they could not have what they ordered. When you get a lot of customers, running out of food can be a common phenomena in a restaurant.

I have never ever started a restaurant. However, I have seen many restaurants running out of stock on special occasions. For example, I once visited a restaurant and it was a newly opened restaurant. They offered discounts on food products. They also stated that they run out of stock quite earlier, as they have been offering special discounts.

Running out of food in a restaurant is very common. I've been to many restaurants and were out of the food which I wanted to eat. I had to choose another thing to eat. If a restaurant never runs out of good, it's a sign business isn't moving well.

Unfortunately, I have never owned or managed a restaurant business before. I wouldn't really have the experience of witnessing some of the food that I have to sell to customers running out when we are still open for business. Although, I have applied for a manager position in a restaurant before but I was not able to get the job.
