While Google Sites and WordPress both have the same goal – to help you build a good-looking, functional website – their approach is pretty different.

WordPress takes the lead, as it comes with a comprehensive list of features that will help your website stand out design-wise and rank high in search engines.
That said, Google Sites could be best if you want to create portfolios or work on small personal projects as it comes completely free with all of its functions.

What are your thoughts?

In my OPINION, GOOGLE SITES should be used in BUILDING SIMPLE WEBS for smaller tasks. But with WORDPRESS, you'll be provided with WIDE RANGE of ADVANCE tools for a PROFESSIONAL WEB BUILD.

With your reviews above on the use of WordPress and Googlesite I am convinced that WordPress is the best because of the fact that Googlesite offers free service. Mostly free services are not highly ranked

From your above description of Google Sites and WordPress, WordPress definitely beat Google sites. Every individual have his or her own preference though, and some individuals may prefer Google sites.

Word press sites has a lot of features that Google site do not have, Google sites are for building simpler sites and not sites that are sophisticated and complex because it would not function well.

I'll also agree with you on this as well - WordPress has taken the entire content management system to another level both for free and paid plans - their arsenal that'll keep them ahead

You have done justice to the question yourself. Google site is best if you're creating a portfolio website that you want to use for freelancing and others. If you want to create a real website that you can monetized, wordpress is the surest plug. So, no basis for comparing the two.

Wordpress is far better, however, you need to use wordpress for a self hoasted site. if you are using a free wordpress, there are no imminent benefits. Even the premium plans from wordpress are of no use.

Due to its more extensive feature package and higher level of flexibility, WordPress is typically regarded as being superior to Google Sites for the creation of websites. WordPress has a large selection of plugins and templates that encourage people to enhance and expand their webpages in instances that Google Sites cannot.

WordPress is mostly used by professional programmer because the features and system is appealing to website owner, and there's tendency of getting traffic with high quality of your profile, but Google site is free which many people don't like because they are limited to some features.

Speaking as someone who has used both Wordpress and Google sites, I can reassure you that Wordpress is far superior for most web applications. Wordpress offers far more customization and better support than Google sites does.

I thought Google sites is discontinued as of this writing, so that is something else to consider.

I have to agree. I think free Wordpress.com sites offer less customization than Google sites - you just pick a theme and that is it. You may be able to change a couple of images in your theme, tops. Google sites allowed me to change everything.

The resulting site for Wordpress.com will likely look prettier, however. Wordpress.com has better support for multiple pages - what I recall for my Google site is that I had to rebuild everything every time I wanted to make a new page. It was really frustrating. By contrast, with Wordpress you just type a new page and hit publish.
