Google recently announced a major overhaul to it's primary search algorithm. This isn't a supplementary update such as Penguin or Panda, this is being labeled as the first big overhaul to the core algorithm since 2001.

If you are worried about how this may affect your own rankings, the good news is that these changes already rolled out a month ago. So if your site hasn't experienced any major disruption, you should be fine.

The updates are supposed to improve Google's ability to process conversational queries, such as questions. It should also improve Google's ability to understand individual words within a query and their context.

This sounds like less of an update to penalize sites, and more of an update to provide more useful results to people typing these types of queries than they have done in the past. Unless you were specifically targeting these types of queries, you may not see much of a difference in your traffic I would suspect.
