Well, let me talk about my opinion a bit here. Forum games are usually meaningless unless it's just for fun. They don't add anything to the forum when it comes to quality. However, they do make the users more comfortable and make them active as well.

I have seen many forums enabling forum games section but they would always disable the post count in that said section.

I agree with this approach and they are providing the users with entertainment and they are not exaggerating the post count as well. Still, they add this games count to their global statistics.

Is it a good approach to do that? Just counting numbers or posting something random....should these posts be considered as quality posts when it comes to global statistics?

What are your thoughts on this? Let me know how you feel about the games section and post count in these sections.

Well, game section is very interesting for fun as you made mention earlier above. It is useful for forum members in such a way that they have fun though it's doesn't count as part of their earnings. Most important, adding that game count to their global statistics is way much helping the developers as well as the user's that they all keep benefitting from the site

No, such post in the games section shouldn't be considered as quality post when it comes to global statistics since there are just random post for the purpose of fun.

I do not have any sections for games. I don't see any point of counting games, or other similar games. I like to have some serious discussion in my community. I like my users to stay within the niche of my community.

if the games make the users very active then i think it is a welcome development as it has played a significant role in retaining your site visitors which is very important for your site growth.
