A lot of folks don't really care about the .xxxxx.yyy slug.... as long as they can get IWANTTHIS.xxxxxx.yyy they are happy.
Is Ghost still around? Last I heard it was paid but it might be cloud.There’s paid blogging software? (Note, not the same as paid blogging *platforms*)
Even WP has both a self-hosted and a hosted option.
