Free Hosting with No One-on-One Support

Not necessarily but for any hosting I need to know that in the event of a serious problem (i.e. not the application, not the code but server infrastructure) I can get hold of *someone* to do something about it. A support forum is probably not really timely unless they have other measures in place for managing major issues.

Conflating the software with the hosting that the software is running on is a really bad take, because in most cases the hosting company knows nothing about the software being run on their servers and will blame the software for any issues even when it's their hosting.

Meanwhile have you been to XF or IPS lately, where the chances of your support being via forums are... near enough 100% in the first instance?
