Hello @everyone! You've done it, you've memed a domain registrar into existence - a crane themed one, no less.
I'm excited to announce that we've started the ICANN accreditation process for NameCrane. In the coming weeks and months we'll be posting updates on the process as we gear up to launch.
Which domain extensions will you carry?
As many as possible. Out of the gate we'll have com/net/org/biz/info/name, but soon after launch we'll be looking to add a variety of gTLDs like xyz/win and perhaps some popular ccTLDs. We're taking requests and will post polls for feedback on which extensions we should go after first.
How much will you charge?
It's still early, but we'll probably be positioning ourselves somewhere mid-market. Aka not selling domains at a loss, but also not price gouging. We'll be running promos and doing discounts from the start for early customers. Whois privacy will be included free for any TLDs that support it.
What makes you different from other registrars?
We'd like to replicate our no BS approach in the hosting world to domains. The “Law of the Land” approach and all that. We've been burned by fake or old abuse reports to registrars in the past, including our BuyShared domain getting pulled for over a week. So we're building this for ourselves as much as anyone else.
Can we resell your domains?
Absolutely! We intend to launch with a WHMCS module to handle domain registration, Nameservers, DNS records, etc. Volume discounts will be available for hosts and other resellers.
Who is involved with this project?
There are 4 partners on this project, myself (@Francisco), @Karen, @jarlanddonnell, and our resident Discord gorilla (aka @Harambe, Mike).

What payment methods will be supported?
We'll support paypal, credit cards, alipay, and any crypto coin that CoinPayments allows conversion to BTC/USD. (edited)
