I am running active forums as well as blogs. Based on my experience, running and managing a blog is easier than running and managing forums. Forums need members and the members need to create posts on regular basis. It is really difficult to get active members.

You bring up an interesting point. Yes, there are a lot of spam sign-ups on forums and you end up deleting a lot of accounts and posts.

I guess it really depends on the person and what they find easier to manage based on their time. I myself much prefer to manage a forum as I feel it's made easy my building a community and having staff members who are wanting to help you who all pool together to keep the content flowing. With a blog, even though you can hire people to make blog posts for you in most cases when starting out it is easier for you to do all that yourself, and writer's block can always be an issue, or at least for me.

I totally agree. I have more experience with blogs compared to forums, therefore, I find managing blogs easier. I can hire writers on my blog and I don't have to regularly hire writers. However, on forums I cannot get regular posters unless I pay them on regular basis.

I think it is easier to manage blogs. Forums deals with a lot of people in it and you may not be able to handle that.

If you have some money to spare, you can easily build a lot of content on your forum as well as bring regular visitors (your members).

This is true but I don't think it will be easy. Well, you already said it can be possible with money
