So have you ever lost a pet

I went through a lot of pets growing up. My mom got me a dog once and it got hit by a car and died when I was 6. My mother had a few dogs run away. In 2008, I had a cat that I really liked that died & I had to bury it to which I was a little upset. I have learned that when we get pets, we have to accept that they are not going to live forever and that we must enjoy them while they last. Dying is just part of the fun pet experience.

Death is inevitable to both Human, Plants and Animals.
The only time my pet (cat) died was when it was bitten by a snake, though I was only 3 years then i thought the cat was sleeping so i told mummy to wake her up. Lol

Not only that, but it's sometimes depressing to think about.

My sister had a cat she was close to. She was 12 when it died. She walked outside and saw it dead on the lawn. She started wailing. My mother told me that it was horrible. I wasn't living there at the time so I wasn't present when it occurred. I had long moved out and she had told me this story.

Unfortunately, throughout my childhood and also in my adult life as well we have lost many animals in the past. It never gets any easier when you lose a pet as they become family but I always tend to take comfort in realizing they are in a better place.

Last year, on July 4th 2022 we lost our family cat, she was 12 years old and had been with us from 7 weeks old when she was able to leave her mother. That was a tough loss for me.

I've never lost a pet, but many years ago my parents had two pet birds, and I remember going on vacation with my parents, coming home, and the birds were both gone. I don't recall what my parents told me, but I think they told me they flew away at the time. I am assuming they died while I was away on vacation, and whoever was watching them did it or they died while in his/her care.

But yeah, aside from that, I've never lost a pet.

The only pet I have lost was a hamster, I don't know how it happened, honestly one day I woke up and the cage where the hamster was sleeping was open and the hamster had disappeared, at that time I lived on the first floor and it wasn't difficult for a hamster escape and go to the street, perhaps he opened the cage and escaped, those rodents are very intelligent.

My first dog was killed by a hit and run driver. It was a very sad experience for me losing my dog in such a horrible way. I watched him pass through so much pains before dying. I wouldn't wish what happened to my dog on any human being or even any other pets. Since then, I stopped allowing any of dogs outside without being held on a leash.

The first pet I ever owned was an Alsatian dog. A friend gifted me. But it died in less than a month. I cried. I was 5th grader.
