Ever lose an employee to a rival?

Was there ever a time where one or more of your employees ever decided to take a job with a rival business? How did you deal with it? Did you accept it? Did you reach out to your former employees and ask why?

Well, this has happened to me a couple of time. When I was running a restaurant our rival restaurant stole our chef by paying more. We has to shut down out restaurant for a couple of days until we found a new chef.
