Ever hired an illegal immigrant without knowing?

Have you ever hired an illegal immigrant by mistake? Maybe they lied about their info, maybe they somehow cheated the background check. Has this sort of thing ever happened with your business? What would you do if you found out one of your employees was illegally working for you?

I think that in majority of the countries, there are laws related to this. In many western countries, people cannot hire you if you are an illegal immigrant. However, still many people take advantage of many illegal immigrants and they hire them and also never give them a high salary at all.

I have never hired a migrant worker, let along hiring illegal migrant workers. I have always hired locals. Even though I can pay a lesser amount to the migrant workers, I have never hired migrant workers in order to avoid legal troubles.

I don't believe I have ever hired an illegal immigrant worker myself without knowing, at least to my knowledge anyway.

I do know though that there was a local shop not far from me, they were closed down recently due to taking in illegal immigrants and hiring them to work for them for cash in hand. It's a shame that so many still feel they can get away with this but I guess this time around, that was not the case and they had their business license taken.

I have never hired an illegal immigrant worker in my business and I don't think that I would ever make that mistake in my business. I have always only hired citizens whom have their paper work complete. I don't like having any legal issues with the authorities in my business.
